Speaker:

Nathalie, welcome to the Passport Jane podcast, where

Speaker:

we will highlight the most incredible women living

Speaker:

creative lives abroad.

Speaker:

You and I have a very interesting story

Speaker:

about how we met in the south of

Speaker:

France.

Speaker:

Do you remember that afternoon?

Speaker:

Nathalie, welcome to Passport Jane podcast, where we

Speaker:

highlight the most incredible women on a journey.

Speaker:

And I just wanted to talk about the

Speaker:

interesting story of how we met.

Speaker:

Do you remember that day?

Speaker:

Of course I do.

Speaker:

So, several years ago in the south of

Speaker:

France, I was meeting a friend, and the

Speaker:

day I arrived, I got a text that

Speaker:

said she was in San Francisco and would

Speaker:

not be attending.

Speaker:

And she gave me your number and said,

Speaker:

oh, this is my good friend Nathalie.

Speaker:

Just message her and you will love her.

Speaker:

And I was thinking, I do not know

Speaker:

this woman.

Speaker:

I, you know, I was like, I'm in

Speaker:

the south of France.

Speaker:

And then I messaged you and we decided

Speaker:

to meet at the hotel.

Speaker:

And we just clicked.

Speaker:

Yes, you were in the lawn chair in

Speaker:

your swimsuit.

Speaker:

And we met.

Speaker:

So what was your thoughts that day when

Speaker:

we started talking and?

Speaker:

Oh, well, I was really happy to see

Speaker:

actually, you look like my friend.

Speaker:

So I was like, well, you know, here

Speaker:

she is.

Speaker:

But um, no, it was, it was a

Speaker:

lot of fun.

Speaker:

And, and it was amazing week.

Speaker:

I mean, we, we celebrate her birthday.

Speaker:

Yes, my 50th birthday.

Speaker:

Yes, we had lots of rosé.

Speaker:

Yeah, we rented a boat, beautiful boat, beautiful

Speaker:

boat, rented a boat for the day.

Speaker:

And then we it was a family trip,

Speaker:

which is fun, you know, with the kids

Speaker:

and now we just bond and, and yeah,

Speaker:

yeah, the pictures were there's some of my

Speaker:

favorite.

Speaker:

And I think not only did we take

Speaker:

the risk and we, you know, we met

Speaker:

and we, you know, got to know somebody

Speaker:

we didn't know.

Speaker:

But then we also get on this boat.

Speaker:

And we decide we're going to try to

Speaker:

have lunch at Club 55.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

With no reservation.

Speaker:

With no reservation.

Speaker:

And if anybody knows Club 55, you probably

Speaker:

have to have a reservation a year in

Speaker:

advance.

Speaker:

And you probably have to know someone really

Speaker:

well.

Speaker:

They don't just let people walk up.

Speaker:

Especially in the summer.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

So this was in August, August 12.

Speaker:

And it was my actual birthday.

Speaker:

And we the, the men on the boat

Speaker:

told us to go up by ourselves, because

Speaker:

they thought we might have more luck as

Speaker:

two women going to ask for a reservation.

Speaker:

And you asked them for the reservation.

Speaker:

And you told them that it was my

Speaker:

birthday.

Speaker:

And basically begged for you know, a table

Speaker:

because it was my special birthday.

Speaker:

And I remember that they were hesitant, but

Speaker:

they went and got the owner.

Speaker:

Do you remember that?

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

And they actually gave us a table.

Speaker:

They thought it was for two people.

Speaker:

And then we had a whole bunch of

Speaker:

people.

Speaker:

We had our partners and we had our

Speaker:

children.

Speaker:

And I think there were six or eight

Speaker:

of us.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

So then when they showed up, they were

Speaker:

like, No, no, no, you can't sit at

Speaker:

this table.

Speaker:

There's too many people.

Speaker:

And so you know, it was a little

Speaker:

and they finally gave us this beautiful table.

Speaker:

So that was the beginning of the journey

Speaker:

of the true friendship.

Speaker:

It was when we crashed club 55 birthday,

Speaker:

but it was magical.

Speaker:

And it was incredible, incredible meal and flowers

Speaker:

and cake and music.

Speaker:

And I remember afterwards, I swam back to

Speaker:

the boat.

Speaker:

And yes, that was that was it was

Speaker:

a good memory.

Speaker:

It was so.

Speaker:

So since then, we have been to the

Speaker:

south of France again.

Speaker:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker:

And we have met in Paris.

Speaker:

Yeah, when I'm here.

Speaker:

And I am so happy to get to

Speaker:

know you because you also are a woman

Speaker:

on a journey and living an adventurous life.

Speaker:

And it started also at a pretty young

Speaker:

age.

Speaker:

And so I love that.

Speaker:

I love meeting people that have an inspiring

Speaker:

story.

Speaker:

So tell me about your earliest memory of

Speaker:

maybe traveling abroad.

Speaker:

Oh, that was a long time ago.

Speaker:

I was maybe 12.

Speaker:

It started with in my family with my

Speaker:

parents, we really traveled the world.

Speaker:

I think it's a value that my father

Speaker:

and my mom just give it to us

Speaker:

at an early age.

Speaker:

I think it's the curiosity.

Speaker:

You have to be curious.

Speaker:

You know, it's it's important to get to

Speaker:

know yourself better and to understand the world.

Speaker:

And so it started like that.

Speaker:

And then I think it's just it's it's

Speaker:

people I met it's I don't know, you

Speaker:

know, sometimes you cannot trace your future, it

Speaker:

just happened and you take the opportunity when

Speaker:

it comes.

Speaker:

So I don't know, you know, I never

Speaker:

thought I'll be today with you.

Speaker:

But you know, it's the people you meet.

Speaker:

And there you go, you're tracing your your

Speaker:

life and your story, I guess.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

So life is a story.

Speaker:

You know, were you raised in Montreal?

Speaker:

I was raised in Montreal.

Speaker:

My, my, both my mom and my dad

Speaker:

were from Montreal.

Speaker:

And they were French Canadians.

Speaker:

So I grew up in a French family.

Speaker:

And but in my family, the culture of

Speaker:

France was very there.

Speaker:

Like I brought up listening some French music

Speaker:

musician and, and literature.

Speaker:

And, and I also grew up in the

Speaker:

French country in Montreal, there's, there's a country

Speaker:

where there's the DC process.

Speaker:

So I grew up in that.

Speaker:

And that really influenced the lifestyle.

Speaker:

Yeah, that I grew up with.

Speaker:

So what age were you when you decided

Speaker:

to move to London?

Speaker:

And what propelled you to do that?

Speaker:

I mean, I was not that young.

Speaker:

I was about 30.

Speaker:

Late 30.

Speaker:

No, no, no, that's not true.

Speaker:

No, I was.

Speaker:

No, I'm not the beginning of my 30.

Speaker:

I guess.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And I moved to London.

Speaker:

And then that was a long time ago,

Speaker:

more than 20 years ago.

Speaker:

And you know, I discovered her up and

Speaker:

I just, you know, I just stay and

Speaker:

then I moved from Montreal by back and

Speaker:

forth.

Speaker:

So you went to university for one thing.

Speaker:

Yeah, I went to I went to a

Speaker:

business school in Montreal, and in human resources.

Speaker:

And I worked in that field for, you

Speaker:

know, some years.

Speaker:

And, and then I married this French man,

Speaker:

and we moved to Paris in 2010.

Speaker:

And, and I decided to stay at home

Speaker:

for a few years, you know, I had

Speaker:

young children, two and four.

Speaker:

And, and, I mean, I just fell in

Speaker:

love with Paris.

Speaker:

I mean, it just not at the beginning,

Speaker:

at the beginning was hard.

Speaker:

You know, the first year, I just wanted

Speaker:

to go back to Montreal.

Speaker:

I was like, this is not for me.

Speaker:

You know, it was two different code, two

Speaker:

different mentality.

Speaker:

Everything was so different that I was a

Speaker:

little bit lost.

Speaker:

And I didn't have my repaire, you know,

Speaker:

I was, but to get an anchor, it

Speaker:

took me some years, it just didn't just

Speaker:

arrive like that.

Speaker:

I mean, it takes time in life, you

Speaker:

know, to get anchor to get, you know,

Speaker:

to have some attachment to a place.

Speaker:

But because I think I have really young

Speaker:

kids, the attachment came with time.

Speaker:

And so I, so yeah, so I, and

Speaker:

then I decided, okay, maybe I wanted to

Speaker:

change path, change career.

Speaker:

And this is, this is what I did.

Speaker:

You know, I asked my husband at the

Speaker:

time, I said, can I become a decorator

Speaker:

or interior designer?

Speaker:

And he was like, what?

Speaker:

And I was like, well, you know, why

Speaker:

not?

Speaker:

You know, I could maybe go back to

Speaker:

school and be a mom.

Speaker:

And I think it will be interesting.

Speaker:

I said, well, if this is what you

Speaker:

want to do, just do it.

Speaker:

So I find a school in London, and

Speaker:

I just started like that.

Speaker:

So I know we were talking last night

Speaker:

about what inspired you in Paris.

Speaker:

And can you talk about that journey of

Speaker:

how you went from HR to realizing that

Speaker:

you had an interest in design?

Speaker:

Well, I think that staying at home, you

Speaker:

know, is a lot of my apartment.

Speaker:

And I think that Paris is a very,

Speaker:

very old city.

Speaker:

Well, Europe, you know, it's very, it's like

Speaker:

the old world.

Speaker:

And I just, it's something that appealed to

Speaker:

me.

Speaker:

I don't have a specific answer to that.

Speaker:

It's just, it's just something that I felt,

Speaker:

you know, and I always believe that I

Speaker:

have to, to follow my heart, to follow

Speaker:

my feeling, to follow my instinct.

Speaker:

Because that's really important to do that, you

Speaker:

know, have like a sixth sense, I think.

Speaker:

And I did it.

Speaker:

And I never regretted it.

Speaker:

Never.

Speaker:

I cannot see myself working in an office.

Speaker:

And it doesn't, I think I have a

Speaker:

creative size, creative size in me.

Speaker:

And I think that I need a certain

Speaker:

liberty of what I do.

Speaker:

And I think that it's also a sense

Speaker:

of who I am, and some sense of

Speaker:

value.

Speaker:

Because I have lots of friends of people

Speaker:

who are very work addict, like they were

Speaker:

work, and they want to be in an

Speaker:

office.

Speaker:

And this is great for them.

Speaker:

I admire them.

Speaker:

And I tried, I work in a bank.

Speaker:

And my body just collapse.

Speaker:

It's not for me.

Speaker:

So I just follow and there is the

Speaker:

way I am.

Speaker:

No, I, that's a very good question.

Speaker:

It's something I felt the beauty of the

Speaker:

architecture and all the little shops and the

Speaker:

artists, artisans.

Speaker:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker:

So I've had the privilege of looking at

Speaker:

one of your apartments that you've designed.

Speaker:

And something that I took away from that

Speaker:

is it was functional, but it was also

Speaker:

aesthetically beautiful.

Speaker:

But you really specialize in designing small spaces.

Speaker:

Well, what a big living?

Speaker:

Yeah, well, what happened is, so in 2010,

Speaker:

when we moved to Paris, so I decided

Speaker:

to go back to school, but there's also

Speaker:

the economic situation was that the interest rate

Speaker:

at that time was really, really low.

Speaker:

It was like you can you can borrow

Speaker:

money for like 1% for like for

Speaker:

life.

Speaker:

So it was really a market of buyer.

Speaker:

And we saw my husband and I at

Speaker:

a time we sign opportunity.

Speaker:

We said this is a good business to

Speaker:

be in.

Speaker:

We just saw it.

Speaker:

And so we just did it.

Speaker:

We just started to buy and buy we

Speaker:

started with residential.

Speaker:

And then we and then we follow with

Speaker:

commercial.

Speaker:

So that's what we did.

Speaker:

I mean, we I'm sure that if we

Speaker:

have moved now in 2025 or 2025, we

Speaker:

will be able to build a business as

Speaker:

we did in 2010.

Speaker:

It was really the economic market that was

Speaker:

in our favor.

Speaker:

So we saw a niche and we saw

Speaker:

an opportunity and we just went for it.

Speaker:

And then what happened is so in 2019,

Speaker:

we've moved back to Montreal and we have

Speaker:

all of those real estates in Paris.

Speaker:

And, you know, in real estates in France,

Speaker:

law change, okay, and it was a new

Speaker:

law regarding energy.

Speaker:

And I realized that I have to redone

Speaker:

them, like because of the energy, like, we

Speaker:

have to be more energy efficient.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So, so I had to go back a

Speaker:

lot to do some renovation.

Speaker:

So this is why I was back and

Speaker:

forth a lot.

Speaker:

It's just to, to make my company healthier.

Speaker:

And so, so I think I specialize maybe

Speaker:

in small spaces, but it was because of

Speaker:

the new law, not because I wanted to,

Speaker:

you know, but it is a challenge to,

Speaker:

to do small spaces.

Speaker:

And it is, I think I find sometimes

Speaker:

even more interesting to do big spaces than,

Speaker:

than I think, because it's, it's, it's, you

Speaker:

have to put everything like a home in

Speaker:

a, in a very small spaces.

Speaker:

And I think that's very interesting because you

Speaker:

have to be really creative to do that.

Speaker:

So I love that.

Speaker:

And, and your designs are very luxurious as

Speaker:

well.

Speaker:

Like, yeah, beautiful.

Speaker:

Thank you.

Speaker:

Tile.

Speaker:

And I know the one apartment that I've

Speaker:

been to has the full bathtub.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

And the, I love your TV with the

Speaker:

frame and the artwork.

Speaker:

And my, one of my favorite moments with

Speaker:

you, we went to a flea market and

Speaker:

we were shopping and you were looking for

Speaker:

plates.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

Because you wanted, although you had plates, you

Speaker:

wanted, you had functional plates, but you wanted

Speaker:

something beautiful that fit the space.

Speaker:

And you, you bought plates.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And I bought a piece of art.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

I remember that.

Speaker:

You still have it?

Speaker:

I do.

Speaker:

And I love it.

Speaker:

Oh my gosh.

Speaker:

I love it.

Speaker:

It is perfect.

Speaker:

I will have to send you a picture

Speaker:

of where it's at in my house.

Speaker:

I will love that.

Speaker:

And, but there's something about me is that

Speaker:

I always knew what I wanted.

Speaker:

Like it doesn't take me hours and hours

Speaker:

and hours.

Speaker:

I just know.

Speaker:

I just know.

Speaker:

And I don't know why I know.

Speaker:

I just know.

Speaker:

And, and it goes pretty fast.

Speaker:

You know, we were both on a mission

Speaker:

that day because I was looking for, I

Speaker:

love art and old pieces of art.

Speaker:

I also love dishes as well.

Speaker:

And we were both on a mission.

Speaker:

We separated because you were like, I'm going

Speaker:

for the dish.

Speaker:

You know, I'm looking for the art and

Speaker:

I was going through every picture and frame

Speaker:

and everything I could find.

Speaker:

And I also was being very conscious of

Speaker:

what I could get in my suitcase.

Speaker:

And so in my head, I was like,

Speaker:

okay, the measurements have to fit this way.

Speaker:

I tell my husband every single time I

Speaker:

come to Paris, I'm like, I'm going to

Speaker:

have to get a crate.

Speaker:

I need to, because I want to go

Speaker:

shopping.

Speaker:

I love the flea markets.

Speaker:

But this was a street flea, which is

Speaker:

kind of interesting.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

There's so many, there's a calendar that you,

Speaker:

you can follow in Paris and you know,

Speaker:

all the flea market in town.

Speaker:

And I could spend my Sunday every Sunday

Speaker:

there.

Speaker:

I know.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

We should do that this week.

Speaker:

We should do that.

Speaker:

We should.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

That's one of my favorite moments, but I

Speaker:

loved that you had the design and it

Speaker:

was, and it was finished, your apartment, but

Speaker:

you still had this little touch that you

Speaker:

wanted to make with.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

I think it's very important to have that

Speaker:

little touch, as you say, because it's create,

Speaker:

it's making more personal and you feel always

Speaker:

more homey when you have something that is,

Speaker:

is secondhand or from a family home or

Speaker:

something very personal.

Speaker:

Like at my house in Montreal, I've got,

Speaker:

sometimes I could have some drawing of my

Speaker:

children.

Speaker:

I will put in frame, you know, even

Speaker:

if it, when they were young, I will

Speaker:

put in like in my laundry room.

Speaker:

So to make it more alive to, you

Speaker:

know, yeah, I think it's important.

Speaker:

So I know we talked about some of

Speaker:

the design trends because I wanted to know

Speaker:

what's happening in 2025.

Speaker:

And so I would love to hear what

Speaker:

your thoughts are on design trends for 2025.

Speaker:

And yeah.

Speaker:

And some of your thoughts on design.

Speaker:

Well, for 2025, we're going back to the

Speaker:

heart tones, like natural tones and the color

Speaker:

of the year is mocha, mocha beige or

Speaker:

mocha mousse.

Speaker:

You can name it different ways, but it's

Speaker:

like a certain beige.

Speaker:

And so we're going back to authenticity, maybe.

Speaker:

And I just put my, my glasses are

Speaker:

right there.

Speaker:

No, but it's just, okay.

Speaker:

So we have here, we have, we also

Speaker:

have some, so natural material with earth tones

Speaker:

is, is very, so it's something very timeless,

Speaker:

you know, and it's great because it's smart,

Speaker:

it's going to age beautifully, and it's a

Speaker:

long investment for your home.

Speaker:

So this is all about creating well-being

Speaker:

and serenity in your house.

Speaker:

And, and also what you will find this

Speaker:

year in 2025, it's breaking nature into your

Speaker:

design.

Speaker:

So there's a lot of pattern with flowers,

Speaker:

with leaves, you will also find organic design,

Speaker:

like with natural forms.

Speaker:

For authenticity, you will also find some ethnic

Speaker:

design, you know, and to bring a certain

Speaker:

form of modernity, you will have texture of

Speaker:

marble, concrete, metal, you know, lots of table,

Speaker:

small table or dining table, marble is still

Speaker:

on, it's still there.

Speaker:

But which is very interesting, is that actually,

Speaker:

with all of that, you have, have you

Speaker:

know, if you ever heard about the Memphis

Speaker:

style is from Italy?

Speaker:

No.

Speaker:

Memphis style, it was an, is an aesthetic

Speaker:

from 1980.

Speaker:

And it was created in Italy.

Speaker:

And it's characteristic by forms and line and

Speaker:

we're really bright colors.

Speaker:

Well, that is back.

Speaker:

Really?

Speaker:

And you will see it in fashion also,

Speaker:

because like, there's a lot of rose and

Speaker:

pink or orange, really bright colors.

Speaker:

So you can still mixed, you know, have

Speaker:

a home with like, a very neutral palette,

Speaker:

you know, linen and heart, and then you

Speaker:

will have like a bright cushion or some

Speaker:

geometrical form.

Speaker:

So you can mix different style.

Speaker:

And this is also in train in 2025.

Speaker:

So I have a few addresses that I

Speaker:

can.

Speaker:

Oh, yes, we can drop in the bottom

Speaker:

of the podcast, some of your favorite stores.

Speaker:

So I love walking around Paris.

Speaker:

Yeah, there are so many design studios.

Speaker:

And from bathroom showrooms, kitchen, there's so many

Speaker:

kitchen showrooms.

Speaker:

And we're going to talk about carpet in

Speaker:

a minute, because I think in the US,

Speaker:

we don't pay as much attention to rugs

Speaker:

and carpet.

Speaker:

I mean, you know, we do buy rugs

Speaker:

and carpet, but here, it's very custom.

Speaker:

And you can walk by a showroom window

Speaker:

and see rolls and rolls of just the

Speaker:

most interesting designs and carpet.

Speaker:

And I noticed myself and actually took a

Speaker:

few pictures of carpet this week.

Speaker:

And wallpaper.

Speaker:

Oh my gosh, there's wallpaper studios.

Speaker:

And, and then so there's just a lot.

Speaker:

And so I know before I redesigned my

Speaker:

last redesign of a bathroom, I came to

Speaker:

Paris to look for tile, because I wanted

Speaker:

to see what the trends were coming.

Speaker:

Sometimes I think in the US we're a

Speaker:

little behind maybe six months to a year

Speaker:

in hitting the market.

Speaker:

And so I looked and looked, I spent

Speaker:

hours in the bottom of a basement, because

Speaker:

the tile store had a beautiful showroom, but

Speaker:

then below was where they had all their

Speaker:

tile samples.

Speaker:

And so I went downstairs, and I just

Speaker:

like went through tile after tile, and then,

Speaker:

you know, took pictures, and, you know, just

Speaker:

got inspired.

Speaker:

So I love that about Paris and the

Speaker:

lighting as well.

Speaker:

Oh, wow, the lighting showrooms.

Speaker:

So yeah.

Speaker:

So are there any favorite streets that you

Speaker:

like to go?

Speaker:

Like, so this week was a deco off,

Speaker:

you know, so I went, I went to

Speaker:

see a little showrooms.

Speaker:

And it's, it was really, I was in

Speaker:

wow, with so many showrooms that I saw.

Speaker:

But so yeah, it's, it's, it's always in

Speaker:

January, every, every year you have that week.

Speaker:

And you can see the trends, you can

Speaker:

see whatever it's, it's, it was, it was

Speaker:

really nice.

Speaker:

But um, but so there's, so I have

Speaker:

a friend, actually, he went to Maison et

Speaker:

Objet.

Speaker:

And I didn't go this year, but she

Speaker:

went this year.

Speaker:

And she told me about all of her

Speaker:

what she find.

Speaker:

And so we're talking about that.

Speaker:

She's a great friend of mine, who she's

Speaker:

a designer also.

Speaker:

And she told me about this designer called

Speaker:

Margot Keller, Margot Keller.

Speaker:

And I went, can we cut for one

Speaker:

second?

Speaker:

I need a Kleenex.

Speaker:

Sorry.

Speaker:

I was like, I hope you can't tell

Speaker:

on the camera.

Speaker:

You're doing so good.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

Sorry.

Speaker:

Okay, go back.

Speaker:

You did great.

Speaker:

No, it's amazing.

Speaker:

Maybe.

Speaker:

Okay, so what I will do, I will

Speaker:

talk about the carpet, the Maison Vacances, three

Speaker:

things.

Speaker:

And then I will finish with the coat.

Speaker:

And that's it.

Speaker:

And then we, if we have more questions.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Oh, we still have time.

Speaker:

Yeah, we will talk a little bit more

Speaker:

about like, favorite restaurants.

Speaker:

Absolutely.

Speaker:

We'll talk more about like little, yes.

Speaker:

Personal thing.

Speaker:

You're a

Speaker:

real

Speaker:

businesswoman.

Speaker:

That's what I said.

Speaker:

She, she knows.

Speaker:

Okay, let's continue.

Speaker:

So I'm gonna, I'm gonna finish this.

Speaker:

So do you want, do you want to

Speaker:

ask, do you want to ask the question?

Speaker:

And then, or I just go?

Speaker:

What was the question?

Speaker:

No, I'm just going to go.

Speaker:

So Okay, so

Speaker:

there's, there's a very great designer and her

Speaker:

name is Margot Keller.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

She's, she's very interesting because she thinks that

Speaker:

the design, she really see, she thinks that

Speaker:

the, okay.

Speaker:

Her name is Margot Keller.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Margot Keller, she's a, she's a very interesting

Speaker:

designer because she thinks when she thinks about

Speaker:

the conceptualization of the space, she sees like

Speaker:

a third dimension and the third dimension of,

Speaker:

for her, it's emotion.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So when she created object and furniture and

Speaker:

whatever, she's very poetic and sensitive about what

Speaker:

she creates.

Speaker:

And this year, so I went to her

Speaker:

website and so she designed a collection of

Speaker:

carpet and you can really see the trend

Speaker:

of 2025 in her collection because there's carpet

Speaker:

with stripes and with flowers.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I mean, this is something else also, when

Speaker:

I talk about the trend, you will see

Speaker:

a lot of organic, but you will see

Speaker:

like furniture, like canopy or sofa with flowers

Speaker:

on it, big patterns of leaves that, that

Speaker:

is the trend.

Speaker:

But so you will see in her collection,

Speaker:

in our carpet, you will see the trend.

Speaker:

But also, and you will see not, not

Speaker:

that she's from you, you will see also

Speaker:

like some bright colors.

Speaker:

And that's what I told you about the

Speaker:

Murphys, you know, style, like bright colors is

Speaker:

coming back too.

Speaker:

So this is a, you know, you have

Speaker:

to follow her, Margot Keller, she's great.

Speaker:

And for the American that doesn't know that,

Speaker:

that website or that place is called Maison

Speaker:

de Vacances.

Speaker:

It's really big in France, so I'm sure

Speaker:

you're going to put all the links.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

And there's a catalog called Smart and Boho

Speaker:

2025.

Speaker:

So in the catalog of this year, you

Speaker:

will also see all of the trends.

Speaker:

You'll see like the mocha color is back,

Speaker:

natural textile, her tones, you will see print

Speaker:

pattern of print flowers everywhere.

Speaker:

So this is another great place to shop.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

And also for carpet is Hidaho edition, hidahoedition

Speaker:

.com.

Speaker:

Anyway, you'll, so this year, there's a carpet

Speaker:

called Bamako.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

And on that carpet, it's a indoor and

Speaker:

outdoor carpet.

Speaker:

It's made of 75% of polypropylene and

Speaker:

25, 26% of polyester.

Speaker:

So it's a great material to be outside

Speaker:

and inside.

Speaker:

And that carpet, there's a lot of leaves

Speaker:

and it's green and it's kind of very

Speaker:

beautiful.

Speaker:

And there's another one, which is Avano.

Speaker:

And that's the other trend.

Speaker:

It's like stripes and heart tones.

Speaker:

So you'll see the trend.

Speaker:

It's pretty, it's pretty there.

Speaker:

You'll see it, you know.

Speaker:

So, but I want to, even though if

Speaker:

there's trends and every year we talk about

Speaker:

trends, I, there's, there's a, there's an American

Speaker:

designer called Nate Berkus.

Speaker:

He's pretty famous.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Nate Berkus.

Speaker:

And he said something that, that is, this

Speaker:

is, this is how I feel about trends.

Speaker:

And I will, I will, I will read

Speaker:

it to you.

Speaker:

He said, I believe your home tells a

Speaker:

story about who you are and who you

Speaker:

aspire to be.

Speaker:

We represent ourselves through the things we own.

Speaker:

I don't believe in trends.

Speaker:

I believe in collecting things that you connect

Speaker:

with.

Speaker:

We should surround ourselves with things we care

Speaker:

about that have meanings.

Speaker:

And I saw in, I saw in a

Speaker:

line of what he says, because trend is

Speaker:

good, but, but trends is also about personal

Speaker:

touches.

Speaker:

It's about, you know, you go on holiday

Speaker:

and you buy a status and you go

Speaker:

on holiday and you buy a set or

Speaker:

you buy a carpet, you go to Morocco,

Speaker:

you find a carpet that you love.

Speaker:

It's not in trends, but you love it.

Speaker:

So, so, so also, you know, it's good

Speaker:

to follow the trends, but I think I

Speaker:

don't myself really believe in trends because you,

Speaker:

it has to be personal, you know, and

Speaker:

this is, this is what I said about

Speaker:

my, the studio or what I do or

Speaker:

my home that I do is that there's,

Speaker:

it's so important that it represent who you

Speaker:

are as a person, because it really define

Speaker:

your personality and that it's not related to

Speaker:

trend, you know, it's related to your story

Speaker:

and you have to, a home or studio

Speaker:

or whatever has to, have an essence of

Speaker:

who you are and you have, it's, it's

Speaker:

about a story you tell.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

I know.

Speaker:

I love that.

Speaker:

And you know me, I collect things.

Speaker:

So, yes.

Speaker:

And I think your home has to be

Speaker:

a place that you love and I have,

Speaker:

I don't know about you, but it has

Speaker:

to be a sanctuary.

Speaker:

It does.

Speaker:

It has to be a sanctuary and it

Speaker:

has to be a quiet place.

Speaker:

And sometimes though, piece comes from collections or

Speaker:

from something that makes you remind you of,

Speaker:

especially travels.

Speaker:

I know people who are like us with

Speaker:

a wonder list that we have our pieces

Speaker:

that remind us of places and things and

Speaker:

flea markets and you know, all of that.

Speaker:

So where are some of your favorite places

Speaker:

in the world besides Paris?

Speaker:

Cause I know you love Paris.

Speaker:

We both, you come very often to work

Speaker:

and design.

Speaker:

My favorite places in the world?

Speaker:

Well, my favorite places in the world, I

Speaker:

think it's, it's pretty where I come from.

Speaker:

I'm from Montreal, but I'm from Quebec, the

Speaker:

province of Quebec.

Speaker:

And we have the St. Laurent rivers.

Speaker:

And I think that along that rivers, it's

Speaker:

called a region called Charlevoix.

Speaker:

And I think this is really, really beautiful

Speaker:

because it's, I've been, I used to go

Speaker:

there when I was a kid.

Speaker:

And, and also, I think some beautiful places

Speaker:

is something that I, some places I went

Speaker:

when I was a kid with my family

Speaker:

and then remind me some good souvenirs, you

Speaker:

know?

Speaker:

So this is in Quebec, but also in

Speaker:

the United States.

Speaker:

We used to drive to Maine, you know,

Speaker:

Martha Stewart's have a house there, you know,

Speaker:

it's beautiful.

Speaker:

And I remember walking along the beaches and,

Speaker:

and I think the, the nature is amazing

Speaker:

over there.

Speaker:

So I love that.

Speaker:

Then I think the world is beautiful, you

Speaker:

know, I, and also maybe another place that

Speaker:

I remember that I used to go to

Speaker:

Africa.

Speaker:

I, I, I, I, I went to Africa

Speaker:

one day and, and yeah, I remember some

Speaker:

really beautiful, but it's, it's a hard question

Speaker:

actually.

Speaker:

It is a hard question because, you know,

Speaker:

beauty for me is it can be in

Speaker:

the moment.

Speaker:

It can be everywhere.

Speaker:

It can be just a flower you watch.

Speaker:

So it's, there's not really a place, but

Speaker:

there's a lot of moments, a lot of

Speaker:

moments.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So I don't know if you're unsure.

Speaker:

I don't know if I'm unsure well.

Speaker:

No, it's perfect.

Speaker:

And it describes you perfectly.

Speaker:

I love your Instagram.

Speaker:

And so one day we'll have a public

Speaker:

one because it is your essence.

Speaker:

You just post pictures of beautiful things and

Speaker:

it's simplicity in beauty and simplicity in nature.

Speaker:

And when I see it, I see your

Speaker:

artistic eye because you take pictures of artistic

Speaker:

things.

Speaker:

And a lot of times it's something simple

Speaker:

as a flower, a pumpkin, you know, a

Speaker:

river.

Speaker:

Sometimes it's something amazingly crazy, like a Chateau

Speaker:

or Swiss Alps or some place that you're

Speaker:

visiting, friends, things.

Speaker:

But for the most part, I think of

Speaker:

your Instagram as being a place of beauty

Speaker:

and serenity.

Speaker:

Thank you very much.

Speaker:

But I'm about to actually think about a

Speaker:

new, think about my company.

Speaker:

I think about, I think I'm going to

Speaker:

work in a new logo or a new,

Speaker:

I have to redesign my website.

Speaker:

And I think I might do a public

Speaker:

Instagram, but I think it's on the way.

Speaker:

You know, I didn't have a lot of

Speaker:

time or I didn't, that was not my

Speaker:

priority before, but there's a lot of projects

Speaker:

I want to go in the coming month

Speaker:

or year.

Speaker:

So just watch out.

Speaker:

Yes, I'm excited for you.

Speaker:

So you're working on a new design right

Speaker:

now here in Paris.

Speaker:

Can you tell us a little bit about

Speaker:

that project?

Speaker:

Well, I decided to, well, we just always

Speaker:

continue buying actually and renovating.

Speaker:

And this is something that I love to

Speaker:

do.

Speaker:

And I don't know why I should stop,

Speaker:

you know, I mean, why?

Speaker:

So I just, yeah, I just find a

Speaker:

little studio recently that I purchase.

Speaker:

And yeah, so.

Speaker:

So how is the studio going to be

Speaker:

different from the last one design wise?

Speaker:

I know that.

Speaker:

Oh, it will be because it's so small.

Speaker:

So I'm working with with someone now called

Speaker:

Christina.

Speaker:

And so she's an interior designer also.

Speaker:

And Christina is actually in the studio with

Speaker:

us today.

Speaker:

She's sitting here watching, she speaks French.

Speaker:

So Christina is from Italy.

Speaker:

She's Italian.

Speaker:

So she speaks very fluently Italian, French and

Speaker:

Spanish because she used to live in Argentina.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So she speaks that three beautiful languages.

Speaker:

I'm so jealous of her.

Speaker:

I wish I could be her.

Speaker:

But yeah, so she's here today.

Speaker:

Christina, she's very creative, but also she does

Speaker:

some technical plan and very well.

Speaker:

So that's why we're good together because we

Speaker:

complement each other.

Speaker:

So what I discovered from your rehab that

Speaker:

I watched, the measurements have to be so

Speaker:

precise.

Speaker:

Yeah, when it's very small.

Speaker:

So that space is so small that it

Speaker:

has to be like, oh my God.

Speaker:

So it has to be beautiful, functional.

Speaker:

It has to be like.

Speaker:

Like, like, like custom-made, like super custom

Speaker:

-made.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And so she's really, really good in that.

Speaker:

She's really, she's got the eyes and she

Speaker:

went to the Colboulle, which is a very

Speaker:

prestigious school in Paris.

Speaker:

So she's, she's got the, you know, and

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

So I, I cannot tell you more about

Speaker:

that project because it didn't really started yet.

Speaker:

Do you have any ideas or is there

Speaker:

any piece that you're like, I'm putting, like

Speaker:

you already know you're going to put in

Speaker:

that space?

Speaker:

We're going to put everything.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

It has to fit everything.

Speaker:

Even like everything has to be theirs.

Speaker:

Huh?

Speaker:

Like a boat.

Speaker:

Like a boat.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Like a boat.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So it's going to be a challenge, a

Speaker:

challenge.

Speaker:

Do you have any colors or themes?

Speaker:

No, we didn't talk about that.

Speaker:

And no, no, no, no, no, no.

Speaker:

But you'll see, you'll see.

Speaker:

How long will it take to renovate typically

Speaker:

a studio?

Speaker:

I think it will take about three, three

Speaker:

months.

Speaker:

Usually it's about three months, but then you

Speaker:

never know.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

But then you never know, right?

Speaker:

You cannot tell.

Speaker:

I mean, it's, it's, uh, you never know

Speaker:

because sometimes it depends of things that you

Speaker:

can control, you know, people get sick, people,

Speaker:

you know, sometimes out of stock.

Speaker:

I mean, yeah, there can be a strike.

Speaker:

They can be, you cannot control everything in

Speaker:

life, but so you, so usually it's about,

Speaker:

yeah, three months, but then I, I don't

Speaker:

know.

Speaker:

I'm not, I'm not, I'm, I'm just, I'm,

Speaker:

you know, I'm pushy, like, but also I

Speaker:

can get some loose.

Speaker:

I, you know, I, I'm very flexible.

Speaker:

Otherwise, if you're not like that in this,

Speaker:

in this, um, in this field, you get

Speaker:

stressed, uh, it's not for you because it's,

Speaker:

there's always thing that is happening.

Speaker:

There's always problem, but you know what?

Speaker:

I love problems.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

I love problems because that makes it interesting,

Speaker:

you know?

Speaker:

So I know you mostly do your own

Speaker:

residential projects, but you are working with Christina

Speaker:

to branch out and maybe help with other

Speaker:

people's renovations.

Speaker:

Is that right?

Speaker:

So they could reach out to you and,

Speaker:

um, work with Christina if there's a project

Speaker:

that, um, I know I have a lot

Speaker:

of American friends who are looking for apartments

Speaker:

in Paris and I, we actually looked at

Speaker:

an apartment yesterday together and it was so

Speaker:

great for you to go with me.

Speaker:

So I highly recommend having someone like Natalie

Speaker:

go with you because if you're looking for

Speaker:

an apartment, because we walked in and you

Speaker:

were able to see it right away, everything

Speaker:

from the light.

Speaker:

Then I was really critical.

Speaker:

Oh my gosh.

Speaker:

She won't buy it because of me.

Speaker:

No, no.

Speaker:

You know, it's so critical.

Speaker:

I'm so particular and you, of course I'm

Speaker:

in real estate, but it was, it was

Speaker:

funny being on the other side as a

Speaker:

buyer versus real estate agent, because I could

Speaker:

see what the real estate agent was saying,

Speaker:

but I also, you know, as a buyer,

Speaker:

you want to buy something that you absolutely

Speaker:

love or that you see the vision or

Speaker:

you're really passionate about.

Speaker:

But what I loved was that, you know,

Speaker:

I, I knew how I felt about the

Speaker:

apartment.

Speaker:

It was my, you know, a wonderful street,

Speaker:

fantastic location.

Speaker:

The size was great.

Speaker:

Yeah, the size was great.

Speaker:

It had a lot of storage.

Speaker:

It had a beautiful foyer.

Speaker:

However, it didn't have some of the design

Speaker:

functionality, you know, I want like old world

Speaker:

and, you know, beautiful floors and lights and

Speaker:

molding and it was more modern and missing.

Speaker:

And, but you saw it from other things

Speaker:

that I like light.

Speaker:

Yeah, for me, for me, but this is

Speaker:

something that is so important is the light.

Speaker:

I mean, I cannot live in a place

Speaker:

where there's no natural light.

Speaker:

It's so important, but this is me.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Well, I'm going to say light for me

Speaker:

is life.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

I mean, I just need some light.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And in Paris, it's very, it's very important.

Speaker:

And so there's certain buildings, there's certain the

Speaker:

way the building faces, what the view is,

Speaker:

how tall the buildings are around.

Speaker:

So is there things to look for, to

Speaker:

look for light?

Speaker:

I mean, how do you, when you look

Speaker:

for an apartment?

Speaker:

Oh, it's the, well, it has to be

Speaker:

south.

Speaker:

I mean, it's, I will never buy an

Speaker:

apartment, which is facing north, for example.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So where it is.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So the way it faces.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

And then windows.

Speaker:

So something about this apartment we looked at,

Speaker:

the living area had big windows, but they

Speaker:

faced the courtyard.

Speaker:

So it was an interior view.

Speaker:

And that you felt it was important that

Speaker:

your living area where you're going to spend

Speaker:

the most time actually faced outward, right?

Speaker:

Well, face something, let's say interesting, like you

Speaker:

don't want to face a wall, but then

Speaker:

it depends of how you, it depends of

Speaker:

so many factors.

Speaker:

This is very personal, you know, it's very

Speaker:

personal to any, so sometimes maybe you will

Speaker:

face a wall, but there is no vis

Speaker:

-a-vis, which is also can be interesting,

Speaker:

you know?

Speaker:

But the thing is there was, it wasn't

Speaker:

just not a wall, it was some windows.

Speaker:

So people could really see in and that,

Speaker:

I don't like that, but you know, this

Speaker:

is so personal.

Speaker:

I mean, some people, they don't care.

Speaker:

Well, I loved having your design eye because

Speaker:

I know what I like.

Speaker:

And I know, you know, when I see

Speaker:

something, I know I can see the space

Speaker:

and what I'm going to do with it.

Speaker:

But having that, those details was also helpful.

Speaker:

But yes, the real estate agent wasn't as

Speaker:

happy with our observation.

Speaker:

But the street, I mean, the area was

Speaker:

incredible.

Speaker:

I mean, the location was just unbelievable.

Speaker:

So you have that too, the location, you

Speaker:

know?

Speaker:

And if you don't go that, if you

Speaker:

just go there to Paris, like a month,

Speaker:

a year, it's okay.

Speaker:

It depends how you live, it depends how

Speaker:

you use the space.

Speaker:

And I think we talked about if it

Speaker:

was a pure investment versus living there.

Speaker:

And when you buy something as an investment,

Speaker:

you want to, you know, you think about

Speaker:

location, size, you know, what the rent would

Speaker:

be and, you know, things like that and

Speaker:

functionality.

Speaker:

But when it's your personal home or when

Speaker:

you're going to be there.

Speaker:

You have to have a good care when

Speaker:

it's your personal home, you do have.

Speaker:

Otherwise it doesn't work.

Speaker:

And this is so, again, very personal.

Speaker:

You can have a good care, you can

Speaker:

have it, another person won't have it.

Speaker:

I mean, this is, this is something that

Speaker:

is in your heart.

Speaker:

You have to follow your heart.

Speaker:

Yeah, you just know.

Speaker:

Yeah, you just know.

Speaker:

Yeah, you just know when you walk in.

Speaker:

You just know.

Speaker:

You're walking in, you know, you just, you

Speaker:

should know.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And you can envision your life there.

Speaker:

Or you can envision your life there.

Speaker:

Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

Speaker:

So, yes, so it was not my place.

Speaker:

I wanted it to be my place, but

Speaker:

it wasn't my place.

Speaker:

But I did enjoy going with you.

Speaker:

Thank you.

Speaker:

I think that we both had the same,

Speaker:

you know, it was functional.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

But it wasn't.

Speaker:

No.

Speaker:

Fantastic.

Speaker:

Yeah, exactly.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So, so are there a few places in

Speaker:

Paris like you'd like to eat or special

Speaker:

places, hidden places that you could recommend?

Speaker:

Oh, my God.

Speaker:

We're about to celebrate your birthday.

Speaker:

We're about to celebrate my birthday.

Speaker:

Oh, my God.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Getting older and older and older.

Speaker:

But.

Speaker:

So where are we going tonight?

Speaker:

We're going to L'Atelier, I think.

Speaker:

Is Joelle Rebichon?

Speaker:

Yes, we are.

Speaker:

We're going there for my birthday.

Speaker:

I mean, I used to go there long

Speaker:

time ago.

Speaker:

And I really love this place.

Speaker:

Now, I don't know how it turns out.

Speaker:

So we'll see.

Speaker:

But yeah, this is not a restaurant that

Speaker:

I'm missing in Paris, you know.

Speaker:

I mean, yesterday, I had lunch with a

Speaker:

very old friend of mine that I met

Speaker:

in London.

Speaker:

And she's from Turkey.

Speaker:

She married this Frenchman and we went to

Speaker:

a Korean restaurant.

Speaker:

A really small Korean restaurant, which is so

Speaker:

good.

Speaker:

I don't remember the name.

Speaker:

But, you know, I don't have a specific

Speaker:

restaurant.

Speaker:

I think Paris is full of good surprises.

Speaker:

But what I was what about that lunch

Speaker:

that I really love is that she announced

Speaker:

me that.

Speaker:

Sorry.

Speaker:

She announced me that she used to work

Speaker:

in finance before in London.

Speaker:

She was a big, you know, big job.

Speaker:

And then she stopped working.

Speaker:

She raised her daughter.

Speaker:

And then she announced me that she went

Speaker:

back to school.

Speaker:

And she's going to the Cordon Bleu.

Speaker:

Oh, wow.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

Wow.

Speaker:

I love that.

Speaker:

And so I was so excited that I

Speaker:

have a friend who's going to maybe become

Speaker:

a chef.

Speaker:

And she she's at the school like nine

Speaker:

hours a day.

Speaker:

Like it's very hard.

Speaker:

And so she was showing me, you know,

Speaker:

dishes that she created.

Speaker:

But it's just just not the dishes, but

Speaker:

it's all the aesthetic around the dishes.

Speaker:

And so this is Paris.

Speaker:

You know, I realized that we don't have

Speaker:

a Cordon Bleu school in Montreal, you know.

Speaker:

But this is what I love about.

Speaker:

I meet all of those interesting people.

Speaker:

And you and she's a bit like me.

Speaker:

Like she she she decided to recreate herself.

Speaker:

And so I'm so excited because next time

Speaker:

I'll be in Paris, she's going to cook

Speaker:

a meal for me.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

So, you know, so this is great.

Speaker:

I need an introduction as well.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So one last thing.

Speaker:

I highlight you and I went to a

Speaker:

spa.

Speaker:

Do you remember going to?

Speaker:

We went to the spa.

Speaker:

No, we went to the what is the

Speaker:

it's in the mosque, la mosquée, la mosquée

Speaker:

de Paris.

Speaker:

C'était dans le 15ème.

Speaker:

C'est 15ème, Christina, la mosquée de Paris.

Speaker:

Ah, dans le cinquième.

Speaker:

Tu vois, Christina, c'est une vraie Parisienne.

Speaker:

She knows more than me.

Speaker:

She lives here.

Speaker:

And so dans le cinquième.

Speaker:

Yeah, it was fabulous.

Speaker:

It was.

Speaker:

Yeah, we had so much fun.

Speaker:

It was another magical experience.

Speaker:

So can you describe the, you know, how

Speaker:

old it is and what it looks like?

Speaker:

And we had the hot tea.

Speaker:

And can you just describe a little bit?

Speaker:

Well, it's a tisane.

Speaker:

No, it's a tea à la menthe.

Speaker:

But it's a really traditional way to do

Speaker:

it.

Speaker:

And but it's.

Speaker:

It's a women only.

Speaker:

It's a hammam.

Speaker:

It's a hammam.

Speaker:

So, you know, when you go to a

Speaker:

hammam, there's like the soap and there's there's

Speaker:

different places to go.

Speaker:

We were just led through this, you know,

Speaker:

we start out and yes, we have.

Speaker:

I think we had hot tea to start.

Speaker:

We had it was at the it was.

Speaker:

Yeah, we started with the tea.

Speaker:

And then after that, there's a little garden

Speaker:

outside.

Speaker:

So we had lunch there.

Speaker:

And patisserie is really good.

Speaker:

The dessert and no, it's.

Speaker:

Yes, we had the scrub.

Speaker:

And then you go from steam room to

Speaker:

steam room and they get warmer and warmer

Speaker:

and warmer.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And you get scrubbed.

Speaker:

That was an experience.

Speaker:

I was like, what are you doing?

Speaker:

And the massage was great too.

Speaker:

And then, yes, we went upstairs.

Speaker:

So it's beautiful.

Speaker:

The architecture is it's very old.

Speaker:

And you know how old it is?

Speaker:

I don't know.

Speaker:

I mean, it's a very old building.

Speaker:

But we go upstairs and into a room

Speaker:

and I had no idea what to expect.

Speaker:

But the massage was amazing.

Speaker:

Amazing.

Speaker:

And it was just the most unique experience.

Speaker:

And when I think back over my life

Speaker:

and just things that were unexpected, you know,

Speaker:

sometimes you go to a place or an

Speaker:

experience that you haven't thought about.

Speaker:

And when you do something that's so simple,

Speaker:

but yet unexpected.

Speaker:

And so that's one of my favorite memories.

Speaker:

Yeah, of that day, because it was very

Speaker:

I didn't know what was next.

Speaker:

You know, it was something new.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So I can't wait to share that with

Speaker:

someone else.

Speaker:

You know, I want to take my mom

Speaker:

or my daughter or someone to feel that

Speaker:

way as well.

Speaker:

Absolutely.

Speaker:

So what's next for you?

Speaker:

Personal, professional?

Speaker:

Do you have a trip or you have

Speaker:

something?

Speaker:

I have to go back home, see my

Speaker:

family, my kids, I miss them.

Speaker:

Want to go back to my routine, my

Speaker:

gym, my pottery classes, my this, my that.

Speaker:

So, you know, I'm looking forward to just

Speaker:

go back to my life, which is, I

Speaker:

mean, it's exciting to go to Paris.

Speaker:

It's exciting to see all of that.

Speaker:

But I also like a simple life.

Speaker:

You know, I love doing my laundry.

Speaker:

Sometimes I love cleaning my dishes.

Speaker:

I love, you know, I just love simple

Speaker:

things also because I relax.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

You know, sometimes I know I shouldn't say

Speaker:

that on a podcast.

Speaker:

No, it's okay.

Speaker:

Go ahead.

Speaker:

There's lots of things we shouldn't say.

Speaker:

You know, we you know, you know, in

Speaker:

life, like you have to do like sometimes

Speaker:

the laundry or you have to clean the

Speaker:

house.

Speaker:

And a lot of people complain about that.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And I used to complain about that.

Speaker:

I used to say, oh my gosh, I

Speaker:

have to do that.

Speaker:

But you know what?

Speaker:

I read something or maybe I read or

Speaker:

whatever.

Speaker:

But they said that, you know, what is

Speaker:

the most relaxing thing you can do?

Speaker:

Even more relaxing than be on the beach

Speaker:

and reading a book is actually to do

Speaker:

the laundry and to do your and to

Speaker:

do your ménage.

Speaker:

And and because you don't have to think.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

You know, and now that I know that,

Speaker:

that I just.

Speaker:

So you've trained your brain to think.

Speaker:

This is like a way, like a therapy.

Speaker:

I don't know.

Speaker:

I don't know if I'm doing my part

Speaker:

of laundry.

Speaker:

Oh my gosh, there's laundry.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

It's all in your head.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Well, we won't tell Chip because Chip folds

Speaker:

the laundry in our house and I don't

Speaker:

mind washing laundry.

Speaker:

I'll gather up laundry.

Speaker:

Maybe Chip comes home and he's like folding

Speaker:

laundry.

Speaker:

He doesn't like them either.

Speaker:

But yes.

Speaker:

So that's my little code of today.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

That's amazing.

Speaker:

I love that.

Speaker:

Well, thank you so much.

Speaker:

You're welcome.

Speaker:

It was an honor to be here with

Speaker:

you.

Speaker:

Thank you so much, Jane, to have me

Speaker:

around.

Speaker:

I'm so glad we're friends.

Speaker:

Yeah, I'm so happy too.

Speaker:

I don't know if I'm going to see

Speaker:

you in the next few months, but we

Speaker:

will see each other in August.

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

In the south of France.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And I can't wait.

Speaker:

And we're going, we're going to try to

Speaker:

crash Club 55 again.

Speaker:

Okay, we'll try.

Speaker:

Although I think we're going to try to

Speaker:

get reservations ahead of time.

Speaker:

Can we try it?

Speaker:

We'll try it.

Speaker:

Like, why don't we call now?

Speaker:

They might kick us out once they see

Speaker:

us again.

Speaker:

They'll be like, no, not you two, you

Speaker:

know.

Speaker:

Yeah, so, but yes.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Well, thank you so much, Jane.

Speaker:

You're welcome.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So I'm going to go.

Speaker:

So I'm going to go because I have

Speaker:

a lunch.

Speaker:

You come here and then you.

Speaker:

We're going to translate.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

Why don't
